The Akro Mati are one of two intelligent species that evolved on U'Bleek, the other being the Trisecks. U'Bleek is a planet with a surface covered almost entirely with shallow water, pierced by tall grasses and reeds that shape the landscape into a series of canals. Although the two races coexist peacefully, the Akro Mati hold all the senior positions in their mutual planetary government, and handle all dealings with the corporation that controls U'Bleek.
